Thayer Hopkins is an architect and designer with over 35 years of experience in architecture, interiors, and furniture design for a variety of residential, corporate, professional, commercial, office, retail and educational clients. Prior to forming his own firm in 1990 he was a Project Manager with FME Architecture + Design, with whom he maintains an ongoing association.
Thayer has a thorough vocabulary in various building types and has primarily focused his attention on residential design. He has completed over sixty homes with most projects being completed in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thayer is a 5th generation San Franciscan and has a unique knowledge and care for local design.
Thayer has been a long time volunteer and has offered his time and skills as Chair of Grace Cathedral School for Boys Buildings & Grounds, Director and Treasurer of the San Francisco Architectural Club, President of the Alumni Council and member of the Board of Town School for Boys, Director of the Board and member of the Committee for the Renovation of the California Tennis Club.
